What has happened to hope, to courage, and ....to faith? Where has it gone? What happened to the people who forged the world and trecked across unknown territory without any idea of where they were going? The people who fought wars, surrounded by gas, by bullets, and by bombs. Settled the United States sick and dying with little supplies just so they could make a home out of dirt? What about the priests who said mass all the while their parishioners were being shot and dragged out? or the priests that said mass knowing the Indians were burning the church down? Instead we hide in fear over something that has existed in one form or another since the beginning of time and will be here when we are dead and buried. We hide in fear in the name of "safety", and in the name of "pre-caution". This sounds warm and fuzzy, but then why do we even get out of bed in the morning? Why do you even get in your car in the morning? We are much more likely to die in a fiery car crash than die from a flu. We let talking heads, distant voices, and irrational, emotional thought control our every move. The doctors are not our savior, the president is not our savior, and we are not our savior. Are we so afraid of dying that we have stopped living? Now we are supposed to believe that a vaccine created by man will save us as opposed to the perfect immune system God created and that Holy water is "Holy", but it can spread viruses and bacteria? We act as if this is our big "moment" or as the media says "our great depression". We are over indulged, irrational, and fearful, that is all.... nothing more. If our ancestors thought this way, if they let fear and "caution" run their lives, we would not even be here and either would the church. Men and women of old kept their eyes on true freedom; God, Country, and the Inalienable rights that we are slowly giving up. What has happened to us?
