Flower of Carmel c. 1800's - 5"x 7"Print (Only)
This picture of Mary remains somewhat of a mystery! We know that it originated prior to 1903. It did not have a name or any markings when discovered except for a 1903 marking on the picture backing. We are not even sure exactly how it was produced. When examining the original under magnification it looked like they created a smoke-like effect at her waist using a very early camera model flash bulb. It was not a typical lithograph and the exact medium is unkown. There was something about this black and white picture that was so beautiful and unique, just like Our Lady, Flower of Carmel!
