Since march I have had an increase of people impacted by suicide looking for resources in my store. What used to be a few deaths every year has increased to a few every month. These are only the deaths I have been made aware of in my small, niche store. There are many more silently suffering. Whether our society accepts this reality or not, it is increasing. After hearing of another tragic loss of a young life this morning, I want to say something. The mental health ramifications of fear are devastating. Smiles are more important than masks and worshiping God is as essential to your spiritual health as it is to your mental health. If you are uncomfortable going to church, that is the very reason you should go. Mass is the only place comfort is found and resides. We do not generate peace, it comes from cleansing our soul and from an intimate relationship with Christ. Christians are called to go out into the world and spread the Joy and the Truth of Christ, not withdraw mentally or physically. Please make sure your Faith is 99% and your fear is 1% and not the other way around. Pray for those who believe their life is not worth living, this is a lie from the great deceiver.
