Just shy of her eighteenth birthday, Ambria Burke wants nothing more than to be free—free to enjoy the world, meet new friends, and explore the alluring thrill of love and romance. So when her loving, but over-protective father decides to choose a husband for her, she feels the need to escape the confines of her safeguarded home to embark on a secret middle-of-the-night excursion. The freedom she longs for is quickly cut short, however, when she makes a surprising discovery that will change her life forever. Having put herself in grave danger, Ambria is now forced to address her mother’s sudden disappearance seventeen years ago, as she wonders if her father’s worst fears will soon become a reality.

Another terrific page turner! This dynamic story encompasses life here on earth. Bad things happen, sad things happen, hard times happen, scary things happen, joyous happy times happen, and through it all... God's ever present love triumphs! I sure don't know how Elizabeth Schmeidler does it but once I start any of her books, I can't put them down. Her style and imagination are so descriptive it pulls you in to the characters lives and they feel like family or friends immediately. I have read three of her books now and am just about to begin her newest book Forever Love and am eager for her to get started on another! Wonderful messages about life, love, faith, and above it all...God's enormous love and work in our lives through all circumstances. Thank you Elizabeth for your faith in God, your gift of writing, and your perseverance!

Ambria, like many of us, does not see the evil that lurks beneath the surface. When she is able to eventually pull away the "masks" of deceit, it is almost too late. The world is full of villians. A powerful lesson here. Be on guard, be prayerful, be ready to put up a fight. I loved how Elizabeth Schmeidler presented her heroine as sweet, innocent, protected, charming, but with the heart, determination, and stamina of a fighter. We all want to be that. Here is your encouragement.

Delightful Historical Romance!
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2011
Forget Me Not, singer and songwriter Elizabeth Schmeidler's first novel, is a romance which takes place in 1882 in England. Teenager Ambria Burke lives in the shadow of her mother's disappearance 17 years previous and, because of this, her overprotective father decides to choose a husband for her. During the course of this delightful novel, Ambria makes several surprising discoveries and finds true love along the way.
One of my favorite genres is historical romance so I enjoyed this novel very much. Schmeidler's characters ring true to life. Her writing style and interesting plot lines make this an entertaining read. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a pure Christian romance!

Elizabeth's "Forget Me Not" is a novel that you won't soon forget. The rich warm personalities of the characters are so engaging and inspiring that it will renew your hope in the goodness of man and of the human spirit. Elizabeth is an extremely talented writer and has a unique way of conveying the best of what life's circumstances can offer. The novel is extremely fast paced; a real page turner filled with suspense, wit, comedy, and romance. It has wonderful character development and is full of scenes that we all wish life was made of more often. This novel is a true joy and a real treat. I am SO excited to read Elizabeth's second novel, "A Child Will Lead Them" I will have been edified and blessed by both of them I am sure :) Purchase confidently! You won't be disappointed :)

Yet another very good novel by Elizabeth. I believe this her first book. I've the other two written subsequently and can say her style is definitely improving. This novel (when compared to her other two) is a tiny bit predictable, but still very engaging. I can recommend this author's work without reservation! Thank you Elizabeth for three great stories!
